Dr. Lorie Wiltse’s path to veterinary medicine was marked by a great desire for excellence and a dedication to advance the profession of neurology. Dr. Wiltse was raised in the dynamic city of Laredo, TX, on the Mexican border, where she developed a deep appreciation for variety and a strong sense of community.
Her academic adventure began at the prestigious University of Notre Dame, where she completed her undergraduate studies with distinction in 2019. Dr. Wiltse returned to her native state of Texas to pursue her childhood passion of being a veterinarian, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the prestigious Texas A&M University.
Dr. Wiltse, motivated by an insatiable hunger for knowledge and a goal to specialize in cutting-edge veterinary care, began a transformative one-year rotating internship at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. During this thorough experience, she realized her true calling in neurology, a dynamic profession that combines her interests in medicine and surgery.
Dr. Wiltse is now a Resident Veterinarian in the Neurology Department, where she brings her unrelenting passion and expertise to the forefront of patient treatment. Her interest for the complexity of neurology is equaled only by her sincere concern for her canine patients and their families. Dr. Wiltse is well-positioned to make substantial contributions to the discipline, leveraging her unique skill set and novel approach to diagnosis and treatment.
Aside from her professional endeavors, Dr. Wiltse is excited to immerse herself in the vivid tapestry of New York City. She is excited to explore the city’s rich cultural scene and take advantage of the endless opportunities for personal and professional growth.
